The cold South (what?)

After more than ten days travelling in New Zealand, we are totally amazed by the beauty of this country. It’s absolutely gorgeous and really impressive! Ok, we’re not that enthusiastic today, so cold and rainy…
New Zealand is quite surprising, it’s like a mix between Costa Rica and Switzerland (ok, haven’t seen any, but still, hehehe!). You can see penguins together with parrots, glaciers and huge mountains with year-round snow on top surrounded by lush rainforests with hundreds waterfalls, and plenty of lakes without a bloody fish in it…. Oh, wait, maybe that’s because we tried to fish with gummy bears (even the RED ones didn’t catch any…)
To see all that and the superb landscapes of the Lord of the ring, we do the same as they do in the movie: we walk, and walk, and walk (we don’t see the Hobbits swearing because of the sandflies though…)
We slept in the most beautiful camping spots ever seen, awaking near a lake of an incredible blue colour, with a view of the highest mountain in NZ, and absolutely no one around us (thanks to the legal free camping almost everywhere and the fact that there’s more sheep than human being in the country!)
So far, we have a good time!Hey just a quick word to the people at Telecom, thanks for being so welcoming and thanks for the good words, we really enjoyed working with you! Keep in touch and we’ll call you before going to Rarotonga, hehehe!

Le froid du Sud (hein?)

Voila, deja plus de dix jours qu’on s’exclame devant la beaute de la Nouvelle-Zelande! Parce qu’on est totalement conquis, c’est absolument magnifique!!! Bon, on n’est peut-etre pas aussi enthousiastes aujourd’hui, on gele et il pleut a boire debout…
La Nouvelle-Zelande nous surprend vraiment, on dirait une fusion du Costa Rica avec les Alpes suisses (ok, c’est vrai, on n’a jamais vu ni l’un ni l’autre…) On peut voir des colonies de penguins au meme endroit que des perroquets, des glaciers et des montagnes immenses a la neige eternelle qui cotoient de veritables forets tropicales parsemees de centaines de chutes d’eau, et des dizaines de lac sans un seul maudit poisson… ah non, ca, ca doit etre parce qu’on essayait de pecher avec des jujubes (meme les ROUGES ont pas mordus…pfff!)
Pour voir le tout et s’impregner des paysages de Lord of the ring, on fait comme dans le film; on marche, on marche, on marche (je pense pas qu’ils montraient les Hobbits sacrer après les mouches a sable dans le film…)
On a dormis dans les plus beaux spots de camping qu’on n’a jamais vu, reveil avec vue sur la plus haute montagne du pays, pres d’un lac aux eaux turquoises, absolument personne a des kilometres (vive le camping gratuit presque partout et le fait qu’il y a 5 fois plus de moutons que d’etre humains dans le pays!)
Bref, c’est la nature avec un grand N!
On vous ecrit de Fox Glacier, qu’on a d’ailleurs ‘’explore’’ hier avec un guide, ca fait bizarre de payer pour aller voir de la glace!
